What is a dental implant?
The implant is artificial titanium tooth roots that are placed in the jawbone instead of the teeth lost due to various reasons. Will I have a hard surgery?
Since the local anesthesia is applied during the implant operation, you do not feel pain. You should take your medications before the operation, and follow your doctor’s advice after the procedure.
What are the complications that can occur after the implant surgery?
There may be swelling on the cheek. This swelling that we expect to pass in a short period of time can be overcome by ice compress made on the first day. As long as you take the medications that your doctor recommends, you won’t have severe pain. Smoking increases the falling risk of your implant.
After Treatment
Following the implant applications, many patients can return to social life on the same day. For the prosthesis making onto the implant which is the second stage of implant treatment, It is required to wait for 2-4 months after the operation for the integration of the implant with the jawbone.
Although the dental implants are known as an expensive treatment at first glance, they provide many advantages such as non-damaging application to the neighboring teeth, comfort, and aesthetic appearance.
